Growing up, I remember having full-size pigs in a blanket for dinner with, you know, store-bought cresant dough and typical hot dogs, and you’d wrap them up, bake them, and have them at it. Well, have you read the ingredient labels on either of those recently? I’ll spare you the time; they aren’t good. You can hardly pronounce half the words, and no one has time to Google every ingredient to know whether they should buy it. This led me to believe there had to be a way to create an easy, quick dough similar to cresant dough but that didn’t take hours to make. Insert this dough. It takes about 3 minutes to make; there is no rise time, so you can bake immediately, and there are only six ingredients that you know, can pronounce, and don’t need to spend any time googling!
What led me to this recipe was when I saw the Fork In The Road mini hot dogs on the shelf while shopping at Whole Foods. I immediately knew I wanted to create some sort of mini pig in a blanet situation that would be easy enough to make, be a crowd favorite, and make for the perfect party appetizer. So as we head into Super Bowl weekend, let’s dive in on what you need and how you will make these Mini Pigs In A Blanket with Homemade Dough!
Mini Pigs In A Blanket with Homemade Dough Ingredients
Complete instructions on how to make these easy beef enchiladas are step-by-step in the recipe box below. Here are a few quick notes on the ingredients needed to make this recipe:
To make the dough-
Dry ingredients: To make the dough, you will need all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and one package( 2 1/4 tsp) of instant yeast.
Wet ingredients: Warm milk and melted butter. I have not tried substituting with milk or butter alternatives, so I don’t know if that would work.
To assemble-
Mini sausages: As I stated above, I love the Fork In The Road brand at Whole Foods. They have simple ingredients and taste delicious!
